Pamela Hinkle
Congratulations to Oakey’s Hospice Caregivers Award recipient for March 2018, Pamela Hinkle of Gentle Shepherd Hospice.
Following is the letter sent to us nominating Pamela for this award:
If I were to need hospice care, I would want no other than Pam Hinkle. She is selfless, caring and kind. I have known her through my profession as a tax preparer.
She was divorced and left to fend for herself after many years of marriage. She received zero monetary assistance from her ex-husband but managed to support herself with nothing but a high school education. After maybe 8-9 years of independence, she received a call from her ex-spouse. He was terminally ill and asked for her to care for him. After much thought and prayer, she decided to do this.
She is an amazing and unique person. I hope you get to meet her.
