Joshua M. Dama has been a dedicated member of the Oakey’s family since 2018, initially joining as a Funeral Director. His commitment to serving families in the Roanoke area quickly propelled him to the role of Manager for the Vinton Chapel in 2021, where he fostered deep connections within the community. As of 2024, Josh has taken on the position of General Manager, overseeing all Oakey’s chapels and personnel, ensuring that the highest standards of care and service are maintained.
Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Thiel College before pursuing his passion for funeral service at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, where he graduated with a Diploma in Funeral Directing and Embalming. His educational background, combined with his hands-on experience, equips him with a unique perspective of both the operational and compassionate aspects of his role.
Outside of his professional commitments, Josh treasures spending time with his family. He and his incredible wife, Chelsea, are proud parents to six amazing children. Their family also includes a spoiled chocolate lab named Wallace and a flock of chickens. Together, they enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, fishing and boating, taking full advantage of the beautiful recreational opportunities in the Roanoke area. They are active participants in their community, attending local festivals and spending quality time at Smith Mountain Lake with extended family.
The Dama family is deeply committed to their faith, actively worshiping and serving at Bedrock Church Roanoke. In his rare moments of free time, Josh enjoys fishing, bowling and perfecting his swing on the golf course. Throughout both his professional and personal life, Josh exemplifies dedication, compassion and a strong sense of community.
