Ms. Stephens attended North Cross School and is a graduate of Staunton River High School and Emory and Henry College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Asia began her career with Oakey’s in July, 2019, completing her apprenticeship in January 2021. With her newly obtained licensure by the state, Ms. Stephens specializes in the many aspects associated with a funeral service including support for the bereaved, body preparation in accordance with the wishes of survivors and requirements of the law, and securing all information for legal documents.
Throughout her life, Asia has been drawn to planning celebrations of life for individuals and enjoys working with families on the personalization of their loved one’s wishes. “It is rewarding serving families and giving them a service centered around their loved one,” says Ms. Stephens. “People from all walks of life appreciate and find peace in dealing with a funeral director who can bring comfort to the family during what is a difficult time in their lives.” Asia lives by the famous Maya Angelou quote, “Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.”
When she’s not serving families, you can find her exploring with her “dog-daughter,” Hazel Mae.
