Mr. Charles (Chip) Warsaw, 66, died at his home with family present on Monday, February 11, 2013 after losing his long battle with heart failure. Chip was born September 25, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio and lived in Lebanon, Ohio until joining the United States Air Force. He and his wife of 45 years married and spent the first years of their marriage in Denver, Colorado. After his service they settled in Roanoke, Virginia and raised their two wonderful daughters.
Chip was preceded in death by his father Edward Warsaw. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jeff Fisher, of Virginia Beach; and daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Nathan Harrison, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He leaves behind four grandchildren: Mason and Mallory Fisher and Anson and Sullivan Harrison whom he adored. He is also survived by his mother Lois Warsaw of Kansas City, Missouri and sisters Carol Revenaugh of Kansas City and Janet Stump of Norfolk, Virginia.
Chip was in the banking business for 15 years starting with the First National Exchange Bank. He later worked as a stockbroker until forced to retire early due to his heart condition.
Chip was an avid golfer and loved all sports. He coached girls basketball and softball teams. He enjoyed telling stories and creating laughter. He served as an elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church and served on the Board of Directors at the Presbyterian Community Center. He also spent time there as a volunteer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church on Deyerle Road in Roanoke, Virginia or the Presbyterian Community Center on Jamison Avenue in Roanoke, Virginia. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 15th, 2013 at Covenant Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow at the church.
