Biography

Donna A. Wenzler, age 60 of Vinton, was released from her suffering on Sunday, May 6 of 2012, at home in the presence of her devoted family . She is survived by her beloved husband Lee A. Wenzler, daughter Suzette Wenzler and partner Parvinder Sethi, father G.W. Duff, grandsons Mason Hutchinson and Adrian Sethi, granddaughter Simran Sethi, sister Mary Elaine Bower, brother-in-law Calvin Bower, brother-in-law Morris Wenzler, many cousins, many nieces, and a nephew. Following her brave battle with breast cancer since early 2011, Donna has reached the heavenly realm where she will join her recently departed mother, Alene Duff. Talented beyond measure, Donna led an exemplary life as a kind and compassionate woman who was loved by all who knew her. She touched the lives of multitudes of people and was Mom to many, including those of her Carilion family in the Cardiac Cath Lab of RMH, as well as various other departments of the hospital. Donna's family would like to thank all of her friends who assisted in her care during the final days, especially Garry Beckner and Debbie Dalton. We would also like to thank the staff of Carilion RMH Oncology and Palliative Care, Carilion Hospice, Blue Ridge Cancer Center, and Drs. Merton, Buck, Davenport and Griswold. The funeral will be held at Oakey's of Vinton, 12:00 noon Thursday, May 10, followed by a graveside service and interment at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA, Pastor Paul Greer will officiate.
The family will receive friends both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel. 540-982-2221.
