Geneva Martin Claybrook, 68 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord Wednesday May 2, 2012. She was a member of Parkway Wesleyan Church and retired with 15 years of service from the Virginia Veterans Care Center. She was involved with veterans and veterans services , the United Way Campaign and Relay for Life. She volunteered in the past for various services. Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Tannie and Allie Martin, her husband, Frank B. Claybrook, stepson, Robert Dean Kemp and brother-in-law Paul Arnold.
Surviving are her daughter, Tammy Lynn Byrd of Hardy, sons, Michael E. Clay and wife Kim of Plymouth, NC, Scott F. Claybrook and wife Elizabeth of Roanoke, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Kemp of Roanoke, sister-in-law, Barbara Arnold of Salem, grandchildren, Alexander, Tanner, Zachary and Asher Claybrook, Tyler and Reece Kemp and Kris Ambrose, also are many many special friends.
Funeral services will be at Oakey’s North Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 5, 2012 with the Rev. Mike Lauridsen officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday May 4, 2012 at Oakey’s North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
