Biography

Charles (Charlie) Henry Ferguson, Jr., 84, of Roanoke, went to be with his Lord on Saturday morning, April 28, 2012 at his home. Charlie served in the U.S. Air Force during W.W. II, was a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church and was a member and past master of Lakeland Masonic Lodge #190. He was retired from the Labor and Industry Dept. of the State of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Sallie Ferguson, his sister, Geneva and his brothers, Gene and Kent. Surviving is his devoted and loving wife of 61 years, Frances Carter Ferguson, his daughter, Gail Ferguson, his sons, Steve Ferguson, Jeff Ferguson and wife, Teresa, all of Roanoke, his grandchildren, Mary F. Sowers and husband, Brent, Steven, Nick and Chris Ferguson, his sister, Gladys Howell and husband, Ramon of Vinton. A service celebrating his life will be held at Oakey’s South Chapel on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 12:00 noon with Dr. Kevin Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Oakey’s South Chapel, 540-989-3131
