Joseph E. ( Pa Joe) Lescure, 83, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday morning, April 19, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarge and Mabel Brown; his beloved wife of 50 years, Vera Simmons Lescure; his second wife, Yvonne Lescure; and sister, Connie Smith. Mr. Lescure retired from Automatic Equipment. He was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church where he was active in his Sunday school class and choir.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Lescure and husband, Harry Whitfield; son, Jody Lescure and wife, Kim; two grandsons, Kolton Lescure and Keenan Lescure; two sisters, Frances Williams and husband, Ralph, Pat Poslik and husband, Joe; brother, Dana Brown and wife, Lorraine; and a slew of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Oakey’s South Chapel. Interment will follow at the Campbell Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorials, please consider the American Cancer Society.
