Anna Belle Plunkett

Biography

Anna Plunkett passed away February 24, 2012 in Appomattox, VA. Born in Akron, OH, on May 30, 1923, she moved to Roanoke, VA in 1936 where she resided her adult life. A licensed practical nurse, Mrs. Plunkett was on the original staff of Friendship Manor and later served as President of the Virginia Association of Practical Nursing. She was a lifelong member of Peters Creek Church of the Brethren.

She is presided in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, G. Price Plunkett and two children, Gladys Marie Allen and John Charles Plunkett. Surviving are their son, Galen Price Plunkett, Jr. and daughter-in-law Martha of Manassas, VA, daughter Bonnie Sue Plunkett Leckrone and son-In-law David of Appomattox, VA, daughter-in-law Jacqueline Plunkett of Roanoke, VA.
Anna is blessed with nine grandchildren, Lisa Plunkett and Daniel Plunkett, Allison Leckrone Knaus, David Price Leckrone and Andrew Leckrone, John Charles Plunkett II, Sarah Plunkett Lawhorne, Galen Price Plunkett III, and Cleveland Plunkett. Anna has twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Peters Creek Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jack Lowe officiating. The interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Oakey’s North Chapel.
