Biography

Eual Ermon Garrett, 85, of Wirtz, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 27, 2011.

He was born November 4, 1926 in Maxie, Virginia, a son of the late Doris Whitt Garrett and Claude B. Garrett. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty J. Garrett and a son, Jerry P. Garrett.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Garrett; a son, Steve Garrett and wife Pat; two daughters, Freda J. Linkswiler and husband Greg, Reda and husband, Charles Pearce; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Garrett; three stepdaughters, Karen Bidanset and husband Ed, Denise Cooper and Sgt. First Class Cynthia Shepard; one stepson, Robert Ferrell and wife Jackie; five grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Taylor, Betty McCoy and Shirley Horn; two brothers, Herman and Roger Garrett and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with Dr. Eric Spano officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from noon until service time at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel, 982-2221, www.oakeys.com.
