Fariss, Robert W. “Bob”, 69, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his home in Roanoke, VA. Bob served honorably in the U. S. Air Force from 1962-1968 and retired from the Eaton Corporation of Roxboro, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Estel Fariss and Virginia Irene Horton Fariss; and sister, Barbara Fariss. He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy; his five children, Nancy Poff and husband, David, Garry Michael, Jeff Golden, Wayne Golden and wife, April, Rhonda Fariss Johnson and husband, Mickey; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his dogs and Washington Redskins. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 18, 2011 in the Mausoleum of Old Dominion Memorial Gardens with Pastor W. Paul Greer officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at Oakey’s East Chapel, 540-977-3909.
