Most of us are not quite prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. We are available 24-7 to carefully and thoughtfully help you with the decisions you are faced with, focusing on what is most important — a personalized, meaningful event that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.
Oakey’s licensed funeral directors are intimately familiar with the funeral or ceremony planning process, key decisions a grieving family must make, and necessary legal documentation that is required during this difficult time. Our funeral professionals can handle all of the details and help you create a unique service that fits your needs and values.
“Nobody does it that way, That’s not how it’s done.” You will never hear those words from us. At Oakey’s we are open to the beliefs and traditions of each individual family. We have seen many changes in funeral services over the years and we are prepared to honor your wishes with respect and dignity. No one way is the only way.
The services you select may depend on whether you are making immediate arrangements for your loved, or wish to make advance arrangements for yourself. Either way, we will walk you through all of the services we offer and explain the costs and benefits associated with each. This is a tough time and we are here to give you the information and assistance you need so you can make informed decisions.
To talk with one of our dedicated funeral professionals, please call toll-free, 800-638-0710 or local, 540-982-2100. We are available to serve you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Ceremonies, Services and Gatherings
A traditional funeral ceremony includes a visitation, a formal service at the location of your choice, and transportation to a cemetery. Other public or private gatherings may include a Graveside Service, a Memorial Service or other types of ceremonies. Also, if you choose cremation, Oakey’s Cremation Tribute Center
provides a beautiful and intimate location for a gathering along with the cremation.
Many families choose to have a funeral or memorial service in their church with the minister as the officiant but if you don’t have a church affiliation, Oakey’s can provide a Life Tribute Professional to preside over the ceremony.
Memorialization and Personalizing Services
There are many ways to keep the memories of your loved one alive, and to create a personal tribute to share with others. We can offer ideas to help your family plan a unique memorialization, such as displaying memorabilia and photographs, creating a DVD, creating memorial folders and selecting music.
Caring for Your Loved Ones Remains
You can trust our 150+ years of experience and professionalism when it comes to transferring, forwarding or receiving remains; embalming; preparation; sheltering; cremation; or immediate burial. We adhere to the strictest guidelines and will always respect your traditions and beliefs and will always provide services with the greatest respect and dignity for the deceased as well.
Your family may request a burial or scattering at a cemetery, or on private land. We can help you make all the necessary arrangements for these types of services.
Products and Merchandise
Choose from a large selection of caskets, vaults, urns, and markers. We also offer a variety of personalization items, such as memory boxes and other keepsakes.
Hearses, limousines and service vehicles are available, based on your family’s needs. In 2008, Oakey’s added fuel efficient vehicles to our fleet if that is something that you are interested in.
Oakey’s will help you with all the other details as well including:
